Undergraduate Scholarships: Caroline Petersen, University of Tennessee, USA, Gabrielle Capone, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USAIn collaboration with Esri, Women In GIS is pleased to announce the 2026 Awards and Scholarships Program application. We will recognize 3 individuals with an award and provide 6 scholarships for women working in geospatial fields. 

The WiGIS Awards honor the achievements of women in geospatial fields. These awards include scholarships that help undergraduate and graduate students cover educational expenses, as well as seed grants that support professional and academic women pursuing projects and research across a wide range of geospatial topics. 

Applications are accepted from women in any country/region. Underrepresented women are particularly encouraged to apply. You may self-nominate or nominate someone else as well.

  • Distinguished Contribution Award

  • Young Professional Award

  • WiGIS Service Award

Scholarships

Two (2) scholarships will be awarded for each category:

  • Undergraduate - $500
  • Graduate - $1000
  • Grants for Practitioners and Academics - $2000

Applications will be accepted through February 27, 2026.
